LAUNCH OF BOP E-BUSINESS QARZA SCHEME

                                                 


The Bank of Punjab (BOP) held the launch Ceremony of BOP e-Business Qarza for SMEs today at BOP’s Head office, in Lahore. BOP e-Business Qarza is an End to End (E2E) Digital Lending Program for Existing BOP customers. Via this digital product, BOP aims to offer a Revolving Collateral Free credit facility up to Rs. 3,500,000/- to its customers. This program is based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and decision is made on the basis of a Digital Scorecard. This program is in line with the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) vision to use relevant cash flow estimation techniques and other proxies to assess repayment capacity of SME Borrowers. This unique proposition is an addition to our SME Products Suite, which has not only set new industry standards but is also expected to help our small enterprises to meet their immediate financial needs without any hassle. 

Mr. Zafar Masud, President & CEO of BOP emphasized that the banking industry should come forward with products focusing on ease of finance for SMEs who usually suffer a lot on this front. He added that such initiatives would help lead towards socio economic uplift of SMEs particularly our small enterprises. He also said that BOP has recently won the PBA’s prestigious award for “The Best Bank for Small and Medium Businesses” which is a result of our bank’s overall SME strategy and effort towards Financial Inclusion by way of efficient utilization of modern day tools.  He appreciated the team for their efforts and making BOP a lead bank in offering such Digital Program. He also added that BOP fully committed and shall actively contribute towards achievement of the desired results. 

Other senior members of management were also present on the occasion and extended their heartiest congratulations to the Team on achieving this important milestone.

CBD Punjab Pays Tribute to Quaid E Azam On His 146th Birth Anniversary.

   

                                            


Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as Central Business District (CBD Punjab), has paid a creative tribute to the founder of Pakistan, Quaid E Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his 146th birth anniversary by installing a portrait of Quaid E Azam 50 ft above the ground level. 

The portrait is installed at the CBD Punjab project site in Lahore.

CEO of PCBDDA, Mr. Imran Amin has said that “We are working hard to make Pakistan a welfare and economic state as per Quaid’s vision. This is a small token of homage to the efforts of Quaid E Azam for this nation. We will keep our flag weaving high”. 


This portrait also reflects the commitment of CBD Punjab to bringing Pakistan to the highest level of development and will make Pakistan a great economic welfare state.

CBD Punjab Value Added Rainwater Harvesting Tank In Kalma Chowk Remodeling Project.

         



Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as Central Business District (CBD Punjab), has planned to build a Rainwater Harvesting Tank at Saint Marry Park Lahore. This initiative is a valuable addition to the authority’s existing project of CBD Punjab Boulevard and Kalma Chowk Underpass Remodeling.

During a briefing session about the project Executive Director Technical PCBDDA, Mr. Riaz Hussain said, “The existing water storage tank at Kalma Chowk Underpass, is insufficient for catering an additional estimated 14 cusec rainwater from the two new barrels. The authority has planned to build a storage tank with a capacity of storing 300,000 gallons of water at Saint Marry Park, Lahore. This water will be filtered and reused in various ways, especially for irrigation of parks and horticulture”. He further added that the rainwater storage tank will have a huge positive impact on the environment as it will control water wastage, soil erosion, water pollution and will reduce inherent flooding issues. 

The water storage tank will give an adequate supply of water in case of any emergency and will be a major source of regaining groundwater level. CBD Punjab has already acquired the NOC for the construction of the water storage tank from the Parks And Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore, costing an amount of Rs 30.8 Million. According to the NOC, PHA will build new green belts after the completion of CBD Punjab Boulevard and Kalma Chowk Underpass Remodeling. Rainwater Harvesting Storage Tank follows CBD Punjab’s eco-friendly initiatives as the authority has a progressive strategy to save the environment and make Punjab clean and green.

Beaconhouse Organizes Quiz Competition - 'Ubhartay Sitaray’

  


Beaconhouse, Pakistan’s largest network of private educational institutions organized a quiz competition titled ‘Ubhartay Sitaray’ at the Walton Campus. The quiz was based on the general knowledge curriculum for Classes I and II in accordance with the 'National Curriculum of Pakistan’. 


It is the first time that Beaconhouse has added an additional school subject in Urdu, which addresses key concepts from General Science, Social Sciences and Ethics. This competition was designed to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their newly-learned skills and celebrate their Urdu language competency.

Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Taimur Rehman from LUMS along with Principal Beaconhouse Walton Campus Miss. Tehmina Lodhi, students, parents and teachers attended the competition. Four teams from Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Islamabad reached the final round. Lahore Model Town G17 campus team won the competition.

The quiz competition was based on an innovative interdisciplinary approach that combined the subjects of Urdu language and General Knowledge. Such competitions allow students to get a deeper understanding of concepts and learn better ways to express them. 

Beaconhouse has always emphasized the importance of the Urdu language and has invested heavily in teacher development as well as in developing high quality material for use by teachers.

Haniya Minhas creates history for Pakistan by qualifying for semi-finals at Orange Bowl

                                                        


Haniya Minhas becomes one of the most skilled players after qualifying for semi-finals at the Orange Bowl Tennis Championship. This comes as a pride and milestone victory for Pakistan and BARD Foundation to witness Haniya at her best in one of the most challenging international tournaments. Haniya’s training and sports activities have been supported by the ‘Bilquis & Abdul Razak Dawood' (BARD) Foundation, since she was only 9 years of age.

Prior to securing her spot in the semi-finals at Orange Bowl, over 2000 players participated at Eddie Herr Junior Championship where Haniya Minhas secured a bronze for Pakistan among 90 countries. Haniya joined IMG for training on 22 August 2022 that was followed by a continuous series of remarkable successes at Little Mo International Championship in New York, USA, USTA National under 14 Tennis Championship in Florida, L5 Under 16 National Tennis Championship in the United States, Under 14 National Tennis Championships in Coral Springs, Florida and USTA Under 16 Girls National Championship Final in Florida, USA.

Expressing her delight on successive remarkable performances in the most challenging tournaments, Haniya said, “These series of successes have filled me with gratitude and even higher passion to continue playing to the best of my abilities.”

Mehreen Dawood – Pakistan’s leading philanthropist and founder of the BARD Foundation, appreciated Haniya’s success, saying that: “It is a great honour for Pakistan and the BARD Foundation that such a breakthrough had been made by a Pakistani girl. Haniya’s triumph will prove to be an inspiration for other players, especially young girls, and serve as a motivating factor for upcoming players.”

Pakistan Exports 120,000 Locally Manufactured Mobile Phones

           




The export ceremony of locally manufactured mobile phones by PTA Authorization holder: Inovi Telecom was held at PTA headquarters today. The ceremony was held to mark Inovi Telecom’s achievement of exporting one hundred and twenty thousand (120,000) “Manufactured in Pakistan” mobile phones of SEGO brand to United Arab Emirates for African markets.

The ceremony was attended by Member (Finance) PTA, Mr. Muhammad Naveed; Member (Compliance & Enforcement) PTA, Dr. Khawar Siddique Khokhar and senior officers of PTA. CEO Inovi Telecom, Mr. Zeeshan Mian Noor was also in attendance.

Inovi Telecom is the first company to export locally manufactured mobile phones of a large quantity outside Pakistan. CEO Inovi Telecom thanked and appreciated PTA for the active support and taking measures to help bolster the mobile industry. Moreover, both PTA Members also extended their continued support for the development of a mobile device manufacturing ecosystem in Pakistan.

Inovi Telecom Pvt. Ltd was issued Mobile Device Manufacturing Authorization on 9th April, 2021 in accordance with the PTA mobile device manufacturing regulation 2021.
